What is the purpose of the role?

This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our materials library, whilst being the go-to-person for any existing or new materials required.  This is a varied role, full of responsibility and would suit an individual who has an interest in sustainability alongside the ability to work independently whilst supporting all members of the interior design team.  This role reports into the Sustainable Materials Lead & Library Manager and is based in the studio full time.

What can you expect from the role?

  • Materials library management

    • Ensure the core materials library is tidy, dressed and fit for purpose at all times

    • Manage project storage areas with Interiors team and Assistant Office Manager

    • Assist with filtering project samples back into the core library on completion of projects and archiving project control samples.

    • Maintain the sustainable materials showcase, under guidance of the Sustainable Materials Lead & Library Manager

    • Assist with the curation and rotation of all studio sample display areas, under guidance of the Sustainable Materials Lead & Library Manager

    • Be the ambassador of Interiors by meeting and greeting all visitors and ensuring they are all well attended by offering refreshments at regular intervals.

    • Take responsibility for all meetings held in the library

    • Assist materials library users in locating items and accessing relevant content

    • Catalogue the samples library, and keep track of where they are when ‘checked out’ 

     Digital materials library management

    • Maintain an orderly digital library

    • Photograph new materials and upload into digital materials library

    • Schedule digital uploads for each completed project

    • Input sustainability data within the digital materials library with guidance from the Sustainable Materials Lead & Library Manager 

    Diary and supplier co-ordination

    • Co-ordinate Interior Design team meetings and STYLE sessions.

    • Proactively consult with Sustainable Materials Lead & Library Manager re new suppliers to invite in

    • Be first point of call for all supplier meetings, catalogue updates

    • Maintain strong relationships with all Interiors suppliers and their representatives

    • Co-ordinate and schedule, the supplier spotlight showcase, Interiors CPD’s and workshops under guidance of Sustainable Materials Lead & Library Manager

    • Assist with work experience students as required

     Interior Design team support

    • Support the Interior Design team by proactively anticipating their design needs and sourcing relevant material

    • Work closely with the PA's to keep informed of meetings and support one another at times of tight deadlines

    • Keep abreast of latest industry trends and share findings and knowledge with the team

    • Actively request feedback from Interiors team re diary and initiatives

     General administration

    • Ensure loan item inventory in Filemaker is up to date at all times

    • Assist with creating a standard digital supplier catalogues database

    • Manage digital supplier catalogues to make sure they are up to date and accessible to all

    • Assist with ad hoc requests such as printing, photocopying, binding as requested by team

    • Complete Filemaker training to enable basic use and understanding of supplier details and trade account info.

    • Assist with materials library inductions.

What skills and experience will you need for the role?

  • A design degree is essential.

  • Experience within a creative studio environment would be an advantage

  • Strong design awareness and interest in all aspects of design - new products, technology etc

  • Strong interest in sustainability is essential

  • Responsive, professional and personable, with inherent hospitality skills

  • Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels and collaborate effectively with a range of internal and external contacts

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills

  • Positive and enthusiastic, inquisitive approach – self-motivated and keen to learn

  • Adaptable, flexible and resilient

  • Ability to take initiative on tasks and prioritise workflows.

  • Ability to apply discretion as required

What are the pay and benefits for the role?

  • Competitive Junior level salary, based on experience

  • Hours 9:30am – 5:30pm – Monday to Friday

  • 24 days annual leave per annum

What is the interview process and timeline?

Interviews will be a minimum of two stages, and a mix of Teams and in person at the studio in SW15.

We are aiming to hire as soon as possible, with the selected candidate in role by the end of Jan 2026.
